Election Reflections (or, There Was No School Today.)

There wasn't school today. Not because of Election Day, but because of staff training. Or so they told us. Last year on Election Day, I went to the orthodontist. Therefore my teeth hurt, and, therefore, I got a milkshake. Like they say, every cloud (even braces) has a silver lining.
That was last year. And, the next day, it said in the newspaper, "Historic Win!" Isn't every presidential win historic?
A little more than a year ago, probably mid-October 2008, in the carpool, we counted all the lawn signs that we saw. I'll have to find the paper that we wrote the numbers on, and it was really fun. Now I wonder, where did they all go? Obviously the 2008 election's over, but you never see lawn signs in the garbage. Do people just save them in their basements or something? Some people still have them in their lawns, but not everyone. So, what happened to the mysterious missing lawn signs?

  1. Do you, like, go around looking in people's garbage?

  2. I like the line about braces. Very...poetic.
I am so annoyed because it's almost 2010, and that means that the presidential elections are going to start again soon. And there'll be all the posters and commercials and interviews and propaganda and stuff, and people will be pitted against each other.....
    but that's always fun.

  3. 2010? Um, maybe you mean 2012? Well, I guess the campaigning will start pretty soon.
