Thirty days hath September,
April, June, and November
Thirty-one hath October
And the fall is far from over.
Autumn's an annoying season
So, of course, it stands to reason
Now's the month when it gets colder
And schoolwork's heavy as a boulder.
We're missing summer more each day,
As eighty-degree weather gets farther away,
As we watch our front yards die,
We see October days go by.
But October's not all bad.
Though we might be feeling sad
There's Halloween, Columbus Day
And other school-free things our way.
(Today is the International Day of Nonviolence.)
